INTRODUCTION
I joined AMB
Building as Co nstruction Manager in 1999 having completed 10 years in the
UK as a Chartered Surveyor. Since then I have focused my efforts on
improving and standardising procedures for the management of our
construction projects. The creation of the AMBB Quality Control Manual
(now in its 8th revision) is our first step towards ISO
accreditation and it establishes best practice procedures to deliver our
quality promise to clients. Regular audits at Head Office and sites
identify training requirements and additions or improvements to our
procedures. It is a cycle of continuous improvement and one that befits
our status as a Chartered Building Company.
Whilst AMBB’s turnover has grown
rapidly since 2003 we have still retained an intimate management structure
able to respond quickly to the challenges of contracting in the U.A.E. We
have no desire to become a large company and will instead continue to
focus on our niche in the market – projects that are too small for the
large contractors to be interested in whilst being too demanding for
smaller contractors to satisfy the client’s quality and programme
requirements. We do not specialize in any particular activity – our
capabilities are extremely diverse. We aim to build on our excellent
reputation and be in the shortlists of all clients who insist on quality
and reliability .
